I find it valuable to know how others think, so I also want to make it easy for others to know how I think, and for me to track how my thinking has changed over time. I’ll also note that this garden is made for slow sustainable growth rather than e.g. larger, infrequent posts you may find on Substack or other platforms. I’m sure there are some downsides here as well—I can’t yet push posts or writing out to other people, the updates I make are a bit opaque to readers, etc. Regardless, even within a few months of having used this as my blog-replacement, I’ve found it to be far more valuable.

I’m well aware that transparency can have downsides—whether it’s by virtue of this site being scraped, or if any ideas here reflect poorly on me to some individual. I’m still deciding whether I’d like this site to be completely public, but in the meantime, you’ll need to enter a password provided by yours truly to get legible text from many pages. Feel free to reach out if you’d like one, I’ll have a low bar for giving out access. I’m aiming to transition to mostly-public + some small private portions.

This is no turntrout.com, but if you enjoy any of the custom features I have on my site, feel free to check these out quartz forks:
